Summertime and Family

July was a busy month for me as I headed East to visit my family: daughter, son-in-law and the four delightful Grandbabies. The twins turned three while I was there. What an awesome celebration for them with lots of munchies and of course two birthday cakes! Believe it or not most the cakes got eaten. The twins were adorable in their new outfits for the occasion.

My daughter and eldest Granddaughter went to P.E.I. for the day and visited everything “Anne of Green Gables.” The museum was amazing as were the walks to L.M. Montgomery’s cousin’s home. It was a beautiful day with some incredible food as well. Lunch was lobster chowder and lobster rolls. My mouth salivates still, just thinking about this yummy meal. We had more chowder as it was so delicious.

More Family Visits

Meanwhile, back in London my husband had visits from my son, his wife and their two incredible children! They enjoyed staying in our trailer. I love that it extends our home as our place is not overly big.

Jim and I have been camping out locally in our trailer. Our last adventure was last weekend when we stayed at Pittock Conservation Area in Woodstock. The Thames River had been dammed to form a lake. There was Dragon racing and all kinds of waterfowl there including the sighting of a loon! We were parked overlooking this beautiful location. This was so peaceful. I was swimming everyday in the pool. On the Sunday, I was the only one there and got a great workout. We met some pretty great people while there and also had some friends from Woodstock over for dinner in the evening as well. We roasted some marshmallows over the wood fire pit. We only needed a couple, but man were they good! Not a smores fan!

I have also been to Port Stanley several times for swims, a good read, and of course fries at the Buccaneer. This was a nice place to cool off in the 25-degree water.

So how has your summer been unfolding?

Are you taking advantage of some of this warm weather? I know it is humid, however in a few months we will be looking back fondly on this time. Take the time you need to relax. Enjoy some family time. Soon enough the kids will be back in school, so fun with the family is important.

Take care until next time,

Sue
