Our dog River is doing really well now and is off charging after squirrels or barking at the neighbour’s dogs. So, in other words, back to normal!
My friend had her knee surgery and came through with flying colours, until she overdid it and had to slow down a bit. Reiki has helped her with her recovery and subsequent pain from trying to do too much too soon. This is a reminder to us all that when we are sick, or have surgery, that we need to give ourselves time to recover. Always keep in mind that Reiki can help speed the healing process along.
October 20th was our 60th anniversary of Forest City Toastmasters club. I was on the decorating committee. What a blast we had seeing members from many years ago attend. We had amazing speakers, fantastic food and a table filled with memorabilia. So much work to get to this point, but you know it was a lot of fun too! When it all comes together it is so rewarding. I even spoke in front of 80 or so people. This is not something I could have imagined doing 6 years ago. I actually enjoyed myself as well! Go figure eh!
Thanksgiving was in October as well. I went up to Barrie to see my son and his family. The Grandchildren are such a joy. We played a lot of games together. My 4-year-old youngest Grandbaby girl beat us all at Snakes & Ladders (now called Chutes and ladders!) The luck of this little girl and she headed straight for the win!
I started going to Yoga which is offered through Wellspring. I volunteer giving Reiki every Monday afternoons to members or their families with cancer. I have really been enjoying the yoga and am finding that I am getting a better sense of balance. I cannot do all the moves due to some physical issues, however there are alternative moves I can do. This is so rewarding.
Whatever you decide to try in your life, give it your all. Ask for help when you need it. I know I have done so in order to achieve some moves without kneeling. There is always another way around a certain obstacle. I once had someone tell me that we are all trying to scale a mountain in our life. It matters not whether we climb directly up its slope, or whether we take a slower more cautious approach which eventually gets us to the peak! The only thing that matters is the trying.
Enjoy this spectacular Fall as you finish gathering your leaves. Winter is definitely upon us. Bundle up and enjoy this new season. If you don’t like this season remember that Spring is just ahead of us in a few short months!
As you get ready for the Christmas season always try to remember what it all means. It is not just the gifts that are important. Family and friends are paramount to it all. Try not to wear yourself out. Whatever your religious beliefs, celebrate that. This is truly the meaning of Christmas. If possible, help someone out over this time period. It is not always a joyful time for everyone. We can all make a difference in someone else’s life.
