Feel Balanced in Your Body, Mind and Spirit

This month has been a bit stressful for us as our dog River had some issues. She hadn’t voided for over 14 hours, plus she had blood coming from a nail on her right paw. As our Vet was booked we took her to the Doggy Emergency Hospital. She had ultrasound, x-rays, blood work and removal of a nail which had split. Because she has a heart murmur she was given morphine to sedate her before all these procedures. Her paw was bandaged with a lime green wrap. She became a three-legged dog at home. There were suggestions of enlarged liver and spleen with a possibility of Cushing’s disease and/or a possible tumour. Fortunately, we went to our Vet today and the prognosis is much better. She was not convinced that the liver and spleen were enlarged. As we had to put her half sister down in June, this past weekend was particularly trying.

I know many of you have had similar situations. In fact, a dear former co-worker is grieving the death of her special dog. Animals mean so much to us. They can be unconditionally loving and forgiving of all human issues and behaviours. No one else can greet you at the door like they can, even if you have only been gone for five minutes! They make you feel special and you know that you are the centre of their world. They spend time close to you when you are ill or feeling a bit down. All they ask in return is love, shelter and of course food. Most animals eat with relish. One of our dogs knows exactly when it is meal time and always lets us know too.

Cherish the time with your pets as it is limited. It passes way too quickly, leaving us with memories of lives well lived. I always say to friends who have lost a pet, our pets live in our hearts forever! Indeed, they do!

A month from today a friend of mine will have her second knee surgery. She had her first one in February. We had Reiki sessions in my office biweekly, and then I sent Reiki to her during her surgery. She had no swelling and was able to bend her knee to 110 degrees. Within 2 weeks she had stopped use of her walker and cane and was free from pain. She also received Reiki at her home. She is looking forward to her next surgery so that pain relief will be permanent. I am also sending to a past co-worker near Oshawa who also had knee surgery. She had a lot of pain after the surgery. This was greatly relieved after I sent her Reiki.

You do not have to receive Reiki just for pain in your life. Reiki helps you feel balanced in your body, mind and spirit. Because of this you can take on issues that perhaps have made you feel unsettled. Another friend of mine had family court which was very difficult for her. With Reiki sessions prior she was able to state in a calm way what her situation had been.

Those who have tried Reiki know the benefits. If you have not and want to feel its positive effects just connect with me. I would be more than happy to help.

I hope you have a wonderful Autumn. Enjoy the changing of the colours and the crispness of the air. If you can, please get out in nature to view some of its spectacular glory.

Sue
