Autumn with Resilience

This is just a brief note to say that my Virtual Assistant has been ill so I am sending this out without all the magic that she does for me. Get well soon Caroline! You are missed.

So much has happened to me since last month. September has been a bit of a roller coaster ride. I am sure a few of you can relate to this!
My dear friend Jack passed on peacefully. Two days later my amazing brother-in-law John passed on as well. He was a strong warrior for several years fighting cancer. For John we were blessed to be able to watch his funeral service live. I was able to see relatives that I had not seen for such a long time. Mind you it was of their backs! I was grateful that there was this option so that we could still be involved while keeping safe from Covid19.
My friend Doreen had her own Covid19 scare but after 4 swabs she was o.k. She did however get quite sick due to a blockage in her bowels! They are hoping it will resolve on its own. ( side note it did resolve on its own) She has a nasogastric tube and clear fluids. This caused her more pain than the actual car accident and subsequent breaks! Her cousin who died at the scene has had a beautiful memorial garden made in her honour at their trailer park. It is a place where people can sit and quietly remember and honour her.
Jim and I took our last RV trip to a place called Happy Hills resort in Embro. It was quite nice with many adventures that children loved. I went in the freezing large pool then was told about the warm pool for adults. It was like a sauna in comparison. The dogs again did really well. There were many places to walk them in the multitude of green spaces. They even had a golf course there. I went on a ride on a large wagon around the grounds. They have over 300 acres! This was the weekend that we always go to the KOA in Barrie to have our Grandchildren visit us for several overnights. I hope that this will work for next year. I don’t know about you but I have totally missed the Grandchildren and they change so much
in one year! It will be almost 2 years by the time we can visit our New Brunswick Grands! The cost of staying healthy is a big one.

The trailer is now cleaned up for the season. Tomorrow it gets winterized and stored for another year. It will be in storage for a while as next year they will be ripping up our street to put new sewer lines in. That should be fun right?! I can already visualize the coolers packed with food being taken out to the trailer. Our car will be packed for sure!
Let us all hope that we will get a better handle on this virus in 2021! Please keep safe, sanitize your hands, mask up, distance and even though you want to so much, hold off on hugging!
Take care my friends!
Sue
